Product Information

Name:
1,2-Bis[(2R,5R)-2,5-dimethylphospholano]benzene monooxide
Description:

Bis(2R,5R)-2,5-dimethylphospholano)benzene monooxide is a ligand that is used in preparative chemistry. It is insoluble in most solvents and has a low melting point of about 60 °C. Bis(2R,5R)-2,5-dimethylphospholano)benzene monooxide can be prepared by the reaction of hydrogen peroxide with phosphine or diphosphine in the presence of an organic solvent such as diethyl ether. Bis(2R,5R)-2,5-dimethylphospholano)benzene monooxide reacts with transition metal complexes to form new complexes with chiral phosphines. The ligand can also be used for organic reactions involving peroxides and nonselective solvents such as diethyl ether.
