Product Information
4-(Pyridin-2-yl)butanoic acid hydrochloride (4-APB) is a potent inhibitor of ion channels, including the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor and the NMDA receptor. 4-APB is a ligand for the GABA receptors and benzodiazepine sites on GABA A receptors. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of protein kinase C and protein tyrosine kinase, which are enzymes that regulate cell growth. 4-APB has also been shown to inhibit the production of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) by inhibiting the activation of NFκβ in mouse macrophages.
