Product Information
Dexrazoxane hydrochloride is a cardioprotective agent that prevents the release of iron from damaged cells, which could lead to cardiomyopathy. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with doxorubicin, an anthracycline drug that interferes with DNA replication and protein synthesis. Dexrazoxane hydrochloride can also be used as a diagnostic tool in the diagnosis of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is most commonly used to detect dexrazoxane and its metabolites in biological fluids such as serum or urine.
