3’-O-tert-Butyldimethylsilyl-2’-deoxyadenosine is a nucleoside that is used as an antiviral and anticancer drug. It inhibits viral RNA synthesis by acting as a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase, which converts ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides. 3′-O-tert-Butyldimethylsilyl-2’-deoxyadenosine has been shown to inhibit cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. This compound also has antiangiogenic effects and may inhibit tumor cell proliferation by targeting the Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK pathway.
