Product Information
4-Aminocinnoline-3-carboxamide is a nitrogenous heterocyclic compound that is used as an active substance in the synthesis of other pharmaceuticals. It is also used as an anti-bacterial and antifungal agent, with a wide range of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
The 4-aminocinnoline carboxamide is synthesized by ammonolysis of 3,4,5,6 tetrahydroxypyrimidine 1 with triethyl orthoformate in the presence of catalytic amounts of piperidine. The amine group on the 4-aminocinnoline carboxamide can be substituted with other groups such as methyl or ethyl to produce different compounds. This molecule has two nitrogen atoms and one carbon atom.
