Description:
2-Amino-6,7,8,9-tetrahydrodibenzo[b,d]furan is the hydrochloride salt of a diamine that is used as an intermediate for the production of 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxybenzoic acid. The hydrochloride salt can be prepared by refluxing 2-amino-6,7,8,9-tetrahydrodibenzo[b,d]furan with hydrochloric acid in a water solution. The reaction may also be carried out by adding hydrochloric acid to 2-amino-6,7,8,9-tetrahydrodibenzo[b,d]furan dissolved in ethanol.
