Product Information

Name:
Diglyme-d14
Synonyms:
  • 1,1,2,2-Tetradeuterio-1-[1,1,2,2-Tetradeuterio-2-(Trideuteriomethoxy)Ethoxy]-2-(Trideuteriomethoxy)Ethane
Description:

Diglyme-d14 is a ligand that binds to graphene, which is a two-dimensional sheet of carbon atoms. It has been shown that the binding of Diglyme-d14 to graphene can be detected at temperatures as low as -78°C and that this binding is reversible. The binding of Diglyme-d14 to graphene is dependent on the concentration of glycol in solution. This ligand also has the ability to bind to ethers and cycle with glycol without the need for an external electron donor. Diglyme-d14 has been used in the synthesis of ternary organic compounds, methyl groups, and solid state materials. Solid state nmr experiments have shown that Diglyme-d14 rotates rapidly on a deuterated substrate.
