(5S,6S)-6-Amino-5-hydroxycyclohexa-1,3-dienecarboxylic acid is a reactive bicyclic heterocycle that is used in the treatment of some types of cancer. It is an inhibitor of DNA polymerase and transcriptional regulation. The m2 phenotype, which is characterized by a high expression level of cyclin E and low levels of p21 and p27 proteins, is associated with the use of (5S,6S)-6-Amino-5-hydroxycyclohexa-1,3-dienecarboxylic acid. This drug has been shown to be effective in the treatment of breast cancer cells that have the m2 phenotype.
