Description:
2,4²-Dibromopropiophenone is a cyclized ketone that may be synthesized from 2-aminoacetophenone and potassium hydroxide. It can also be synthesized by reacting 2,4-dibromoiodobenzene with potassium hydroxide in methanol. The trifluoroacetic acid can be removed by treatment with a base such as potassium hydroxide or hydroxide. This chemical has been used in the synthesis of other molecules, including amines and pyridines.
