Product Information
Maprotiline related compound D is a dopamine agonist that has been shown to be active in chronic exposure models of neurodegenerative disease. It binds to the oxytocin receptor and activates the G protein-coupled pathway for signal transduction. This has been shown to have beneficial effects on diabetic patients with neuropathic pain, as well as infectious diseases such as HIV and malaria. Maprotiline related compound D has also been shown to inhibit gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) uptake at high concentrations, but not at lower concentrations, which may explain its neurotrophic effects on the central nervous system.
