Product Information

Name:
Isodeoxyelephantopin
Description:

Isodeoxyelephantopin is a sesquiterpene lactone that has been shown to have anticancer activity. Isodeoxyelephantopin inhibits the mitochondrial membrane potential, leading to an accumulation of reactive oxygen species and subsequent cell death. This compound also has anti-inflammatory properties due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Isodeoxyelephantopin has been shown to induce autophagy in hematopoietic cells, which may be related to its ability to inhibit nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer (NF-κB) signaling pathway. Isodeoxyelephantopin can act as a precursor for protocatechuic acid, which is used in the analytical method for determining fatty acid content in biological samples.
