Description:
3-(4-Methoxybenzoyl)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-6-methoxybenzo[b]thiophene is a peptide inhibitor with IC50 values of 0.8, 1.0 and 2.1 μM for the three enzymes: protein kinase C, protein kinase G and protein kinase A respectively. This compound is also an activator of protein kinase C, with an EC50 value of 16 nM. 3-(4-Methoxybenzoyl)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-6-methoxybenzo[b]thiophene has been used as a research tool for studying the interactions between proteins in cell biology as well as for developing antibodies against these proteins.
