2,6-Diamino-9-[3',5'-O-(1,1,3,3-tetraisopropyl-1,3-disiloxanediyl)-β-D-ribofuranosyl]purine is a synthetic nucleoside analog that is structurally similar to the natural nucleosides. It has antiviral and anticancer activity that is due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis in cells. 2,6-Diamino-9-[3',5'-O-(1,1,3,3-tetraisopropyl-1,3-disiloxanediyl)-β-D-ribofuranosyl]purine has an activated phosphate group at the 2' position of the sugar moiety and can be phosphorylated by kinases. This phosphorylation results in increased cellular uptake and enhanced cytotoxicity.
