Description:
2'-Deoxy-6-methylthioguanosine is a novel nucleoside and nucleotide analog with antiviral and anticancer activities. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of DNA by inhibiting the activity of DNA polymerase. The target of this drug is not related to any virus or bacterial species, but it inhibits the growth of cancer cells in vitro. The synthesis of 2'-deoxy-6-methylthioguanosine can be achieved by modifying commercially available phosphoramidites.
