Bromoenol lactone is a natural chemical found in the human body. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of phospholipase A2, a key enzyme in the arachidonic acid cascade. Bromoenol lactone inhibits mitochondrial functions by binding to ATP synthase and blocking the production of ATP, which is necessary for cell division. Bromoenol lactone also inhibits phospholipase A2, an enzyme that plays a role in atherosclerotic lesions. This inhibitor blocks arachidonic acid release, which prevents lipid peroxidation and inflammation.
