Description:
N-Isobutyl 2-bromobenzamide is a synthetic chemical that has been shown to be regioselective in the palladium-catalyzed coupling of an isopropyl group with an alkyl halide. The intermolecular reaction was carried out under reflux conditions in a biphasic system. This reaction was successfully completed in one hour and gave high yields (up to 99%) of the desired product. The functional group was introduced by derivatization with 1,1'-carbonyldiimidazole.
