Product Information
N-Benzyl-1-phenylbut-3-en-1-amine is a chemical that is used in the synthesis of azetidines, which are important in the preparation of a number of biologically active compounds. It has been shown to be an effective and selective inhibitor of aminolevulinic acid synthase (ALAS), which is an enzyme involved in the production of heme. The product has been shown to be stereoselective and stereochemically pure with respect to the 1,3 configuration at position 3, and can be used as a substitute for aziridine. N-Benzyl-1-phenylbut-3-en-1-amine has also been shown to have hypopigmentation effects on mouse skin when applied topically for seven days, but it does not produce this effect when administered orally at doses up to 2000 mg/kg.
