Product Information
- Strontium i-propoxide
- Strontium Dipropan-2-Olate
Strontium isopropoxide (SrOIP) is a white, crystalline powder with a molecular weight of 477.7 g/mol. It has the chemical formula Sr(OCH2CH2)2PO4 and belongs to the family of strontium compounds. This compound can be used as a coating for surfaces that are exposed to deionized water or slurry, such as in the oil and gas industry. It is also used in organic solvents as a corrosion inhibitor, and in reactions with hydrochloric acid to form strontium chloride. Strontium isopropoxide undergoes a transition from ferroelectric to paraelectric at 13 °C and from paraelectric to ferroelectric at 77 °C. The activation energy for this phase transition is 5 kJ mol-1. The nitrogen atoms in SrOIP provide sites for particle formation, which can be seen when it reacts with iron oxides at temperatures
