Product Information
4-(Hydroxymethyl)-2-methylaniline is a mesoporous monomer that has been used in electron microscopy to create nanostructures of micron dimensions. The high electron density and temperature sensitivity of this material make it a good candidate for the development of temperature-sensitive polymer materials. 4-(Hydroxymethyl)-2-methylaniline can be transformed into an oligomer by reacting with ethylene, which generates a copolymer. This process was shown to be catalyzed by cobalt, nickel, and iron salts. The magnetic properties of 4-(hydroxymethyl)-2-methylaniline are utilized in the immobilization of catalysts on its surface for catalysis. It also shows promise as a photocatalyst for polymerization reactions.
