Product Information

Name:
imidazo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazin-4-amine
Description:

Imidazo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazin-4-amine is a synthetic nucleoside analogue that is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV). Imidazo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazin-4-amine inhibits the adenosine deaminase enzyme and the formation of monophosphate derivatives of adenosine. This leads to an increased concentration of adenosine in cells, which blocks the function of purine receptors on hepatocytes. Furthermore, imidazo[2,1-f][1,2,4]triazin-4-amine inhibits viral DNA polymerase by interacting with its active site. The antiviral activity is thought to be due to imidazo[2,1-f][1,2,
