2-((((9H-fluoren-9-yl)methoxy)carbonyl)amino)-3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid is a hydrophilic, water soluble and stable peptide. It can be synthesized in high yield by the Fmoc/Boc solid phase synthesis method. The efficiency of this synthetic process is improved by sequentially coupling the amino acid residues on the resin as opposed to coupling all of them at once. The peptide can be deprotected from the resin with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA). 2-((((9H-fluoren-9-yl)methoxy)carbonyl)amino)-3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid can also be synthesized using a liquid phase synthesis method. In this process, acetyl chloride is reacted with 3,4 dioxanone to produce an intermediate that is then
