Product Information
TAPI 1 is a protein-based drug that inhibits the activity of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). TAPI 1 binds to EGFR and prevents its activation by binding to the extracellular domain. This inhibition leads to an increase in apoptosis of cancer cells, such as those found in carcinoma cell lines. TAPI 1 also inhibits HIV infection, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the expression of neurokinin-1 receptor, which is involved in viral replication and signaling.
