Product Information

Name:
TFM-4AS-1
Description:

TFM-4AS-1 is a synthetic ligand that binds to the androgen receptor. It is a potent agonist of the androgen receptor, with maximal response at 10-100 nM. TFM-4AS-1 has been shown to have a high affinity for muscle tissue, as well as sebaceous glands. TFM-4AS-1 also has an unknown conformational state. It interacts with the androgen receptor in a biochemical manner, leading to increased protein synthesis of muscle cells and sebaceous glands. This drug has been shown to cause virilization in female rats, which may be due to its ability to stimulate the production of testosterone receptors in muscle cells. The mechanism of this effect is unknown, but it may be due to interaction with response elements on DNA or modulation of transcription factors such as MDV3100.
