Product Information

Name:
HX 531
Controlled Product
Description:

HX 531 is a synthetic retinoid that is used to treat cancer. The drug binds to the ATP-binding cassette transporter and inhibits its function, which leads to an increase in energy metabolism. HX 531 has been shown to be effective in treating inflammatory bowel disease by reducing the production of cytokines, such as IL-1β and TNF-α. The drug has also shown activity against tumor cells, as well as other diseases that are caused by oxidative injury. HX 531 has pharmacokinetic properties that allow it to pass through the mitochondrial membrane potential without being degraded by cytochrome P450 enzymes and is metabolized by esterases or glucuronidases, oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes, reduction by glutathione reductase, or conjugation with glucuronic acid.
