Product Information
Diethyl (5-formylfuran-2-yl)phosphonate is a potential drug target that inhibits the activity of human liver enzymes. It potently inhibits the enzyme adenine phosphoribosyltransferase, a key enzyme in purine metabolism. This inhibitor has been shown to be potent and specific for this type of enzyme and shows no inhibitory effect on other enzymes. Diethyl (5-formylfuran-2-yl)phosphonate binds to the active site of its target enzyme with high specificity, where it acts as a hydrophobic inhibitor. This compound has been crystallized and molecular modeling studies have been performed to investigate its binding to the active site of adenine phosphoribosyltransferase.
