4-(5-Bromo-1H-indol-3-yl)pyrimidin-2-amine is a cytotoxic drug that inhibits the growth of prostate cancer cells by inducing apoptosis. It has been shown to inhibit the transcriptional activity of various cellular DNA polymerases, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR), as well as kinases. 4-(5-Bromo-1H-indol-3-yl)pyrimidin-2-amine binds to and inhibits the expression of tumorigenic proteins such as PIM1 and MCL1. This drug also induces apoptosis in K562 cells, 3T3L1 preadipocytes, and primary rat fetal bovine aortic endothelial cells (BFECs).
