Description:
3-(6-Methyl-4,8-dioxo-1,3,6,2-dioxazaborocan-2-yl)benzaldehyde is an amine that can be synthesized by reductive amination of acetophenone with sodium cyanoborohydride in a microwave. It is also possible to synthesize this compound by the amination of 4,7-dimethylquinoline with formaldehyde and ammonium chloride in ethanol. This compound is used as a synthetic intermediate for pharmaceuticals such as beta blockers and antihistamines.
