Product Information
Buergerinin G is a chemical that is synthesized from the alkaloid lycopodium. Buergerinin G has been shown to be an efficient method for the synthesis of oligosaccharides and can be used in the biosynthesis of mycobacterial cell wall glycolipids. The synthetic process involves allylation with propargyl bromide, followed by acid hydrolysis of the resulting allyl ester to yield buergerinin G. It also contains galactose residues and it is one of a group of compounds known as tetroxides. Buergerinin G has been shown to have antibacterial properties against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which is caused by its catalytic asymmetric activity.
