Product Information
Uricase is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of uric acid to allantoin. The enzyme has been shown to be active in erythrocytes and kidney cells, but not in liver and other tissues. The activity of this enzyme is increased by the presence of ATP and preferentially activated when there are high concentrations of uric acid. Uricase is inhibited by high concentrations of ascorbate or hydrogen peroxide.
