2'-O-(2-Methoxyethyl)adenosine 5'-monophosphate is a nucleoside compound that has been modified with the addition of an ester group at the 2' position. This modification prevents the degradation of the molecule, which is often seen with adenosine and guanosine, in order to inhibit viral replication. 2'-O-(2-Methoxyethyl)adenosine 5'-monophosphate is novel and has not been previously reported. It also has antiviral properties against HIV, Herpes Simplex Virus 1, and Herpes Simplex Virus 2.
