4-(2,7-Dichloropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)morpholine is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. This drug has an algorithm that can be used for the identification of new compounds with similar activity. Linear regression analysis was performed on physicochemical descriptors and regression analysis was performed to identify pharmacophores. 4-(2,7-Dichloropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-yl)morpholine was found to bind to calcium ions and calmodulin in a way that is similar to other known compounds. The similarity of this drug’s binding mode to known inhibitors of the enzyme ca2+/calmodulin dependent protein kinase (CAMK) suggests it may have potential as a therapeutic agent for cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and angina pectoris.
