It is an activator of DNA synthesis and is modified to have a high quality. 6-Propylamino-7-deazapurine has been shown to be effective against HIV and other viruses in vitro, as well as in animal models, but it is not yet approved for use in humans.6-Propylamino-7-deazapurine has also been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo.
