3,5-Bis(3-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)pyridine (BCP) is a fluorescent molecule that can emit light. It is a polar compound with an electronegativity of 2.67 and a molecular weight of 330.24 g/mol. BCP has a skeleton with four carbon atoms and two nitrogen atoms, which are connected by single bonds in the form of a square pyramid. This molecule also has an organometallic bond between the central metal atom and one of the carbon atoms in the skeleton. The three other carbon atoms in the skeleton have hydrocarbon groups attached to them, while the two nitrogen atoms have hydrogen atoms attached to them. BCP's fluorescence emission peak is at 576 nm, which falls within the near infrared range of light wavelengths. In addition to being fluorescent, BCP is also luminescent and has high efficiencies for light emission when it is excited by UV radiation or visible
