Product Information

Name:
KX2-391 dihydrochloride
Description:

KX2-391 is a peptide inhibitor of the protein tyrosine phosphatases PTP1B and SHP-2. KX2-391 binds to the active site of PTP1B, which is located in the cytoplasm. This binding blocks the dephosphorylation of various substrates including phosphotyrosine residues on proteins such as insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS-1), thereby preventing signaling pathways that are mediated by tyrosine kinase activity. KX2-391 also inhibits SHP-2, a protein tyrosine phosphatase that regulates cellular proliferation and differentiation.
KX2-391 has been shown to activate protein kinase C (PKC) and cAMP response element binding protein (CREB). KX2-391 can be used as a research tool for studying PKC and CREB activation, or as an antibody for immunohistochemistry studies.
