This compound has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of deoxyribonucleosides and ribonucleosides, and also inhibit the growth of certain viruses. 5-(2',3',5'-Tri-O-benzyl-b-D-ribofuranosyl)-3 methyl -2 benzyloxypyridine can be used as a phosphoramidite or activator in the synthesis of DNA or RNA.
