Ent-14β,16-epoxy-8-pimarene-3β,15α-diol (EP) is a diterpenoid found in the ethanol extract of Orientalis orientalis. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme phospholipase A2 and has been proposed to work by stabilizing the lipid bilayer. EP has been shown to inhibit neutrophil chemotaxis and adhesion in vitro. EP also inhibits platelet aggregation and may have anti-inflammatory properties.
