2,6-di-O-n-pentyl-3-O-trifluroacetyl-gamma-cyclodextrin is a carbohydrate. It is a modified oligosaccharide, which has been synthesized by the reaction of 2,6-dihydroxyhexanoic acid with gamma cyclodextrin. 2,6-di-O-n-pentyl 3-(2,2,2,-trifluoroethoxy)propionate (TFP) was used as the methylating agent. The resulting product has a high purity and was characterized using spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
