N-Glycolylneuraminic acid-spacer-BSA is a synthetic, monosaccharide oligosaccharide, complex carbohydrate. The glycosylation of BSA with N-glycolylneuraminic acid has been shown to be an effective method for the protection of biomolecules against fluoroquinolones. Glycosylation with N-glycolylneuraminic acid can be used as a method for the protection of biomolecules from fluoroquinolone antibiotics and other chemical reagents that are known to react with sugars.
