Pinoresinol diglucopyranoside is a diglucoside that is found in the plant Eucommia ulmoides Oliv. Pinoresinol diglucopyranoside has been shown to have a matrix effect on the metabolic activity of cells and to have an anti-inflammatory effect. It was also shown to have an inhibitory effect on the production of inflammatory mediators such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and nitric oxide (NO). The metabolite pinoresinol, which is found in rhizoma gastrodiae and fructus, can be used as a marker for this compound.
