Product Information
- 3-Butenoic Acid, 1,1-Dimethylethyl Ester
- tert-Butyl but-3-enoate
- tert-Butyl vinylacetate
Tert-butyl 3-butenoate is a chemical compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to the chloride anion. It is soluble in organic solvents and can be used as a polymerization agent for the production of polycarbonates. Tert-butyl 3-butenoate has also been shown to have antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli. This chemical is used as an additive in mulching materials and for feedstock. Tert-Butyl 3-butenoate can be synthesized from allyl chloride, butanoic acid, and zirconium tetrachloride. This process involves kinetic copolymerization to produce tert-butyl 3-butenoate with high enantiopurity and asymmetric synthesis to produce enantiopure tert-butyl 3-butenoate.
