It has been shown to have antihistaminic activity in mice and inhibits the production of fatty acids in HL60 cells. 2,2,6-Trimethyl-6-vinyltetrahydropyran-3-ol (mixture of isomers) also has a conditioning agent effect on hair. This chemical composition can be used to treat skin conditions such as acne and dandruff. 2,2,6-Trimethyl-6-vinyltetrahydropyran-3-ol (mixture of isomers) also inhibits the growth of mosquitoes under light exposure and can be used as a mosquito repellent.
