The formyl group is at the center of the molecule. 1,2-Dicyclopropylethan-1-one can exist as a thienyl, pyridyl, alkenyl or ketone derivative. This substance can be synthesized from cyclopropylmethyl chloride and hydrogen gas in the presence of naphthyl lithium or cycloalkyl magnesium bromide.
