Product Information
4-tert-Butylbenzene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid is a synthetic anion that has been used as an activated carbon precursor to remove anions from wastewater. 4-tert-Butylbenzene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid has shown to be effective in the removal of ammonium, sulfate, and phosphate. The reactivity of 4-tert-butylbenzene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid with peroxide and uv irradiation leads to the formation of hydroxyl radicals that are capable of oxidizing pyrite. This process can be combined with photoelectron spectroscopy to evaluate the mineralization rate of pyrite. 4-tert butylbenzene 1,2 dicarboxylic acid is also known as monomer for polymers such as polyurethane and polyester resins.
