Description:
N,N,N',N'-Tetrabutylmalonamide is a nitrate extractant that can be used to extract metal ions from aqueous solutions. It has been shown to have the ability to extract lanthanide ions from water and organic solvents. N,N,N',N'-Tetrabutylmalonamide has been found to be an efficient ligand for the extraction of many metals in organic solvents. This compound is also capable of binding to carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) and diffracting X-rays with high intensity. The interaction between these two compounds is not well understood but it may involve hydrogen bonding or ionic interactions.
