Product Information
Ethyl 3-amino-4H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]isoxazole-5(6H)-carboxylate is a divalent metal complex that is an effective inhibitor of catecholamine hydroxylase, the enzyme responsible for converting dopamine to norepinephrine. It has been shown to have an affinity for the active site of tyrosine hydroxylase, which catalyzes the conversion of tyrosine to L-DOPA and may be useful in treating Parkinson’s disease. Ethyl 3-amino-4H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]isoxazole-5(6H)-carboxylate also binds to bathophenanthroline (BP), which is a chelating agent used in analytical chemistry. This binding can inhibit the activity of tyrosine hydroxylase and lead to a decrease in dopamine levels.
