2,4,5-Tribromophenol is a brominated phenolic compound used mainly as an intermediate in the production of dyes and polymers. 2,4,5-Tribromophenol has two isomers: 2,4-dibromophenol and 2,5-dibromophenol. It is also a potential precursor for dioxins. The kinetic study covers the reaction with hydrogen bromide to form 2,4-dibromophenol or with hydroquinone to form 2,5-dibromophenol.
