Tris(2,4-pentanedionato)indium(III) is a chemical compound that is soluble in toluene and ethanol. It forms crystals with a melting point of 280 °C. Tris(2,4-pentanedionato)indium(III) is used as a catalyst for the polymerization of acetone and other alpha-olefins. The cocatalyst can be either triethylaluminum or trimethylaluminum and the solvent can be either methanol or ethyl alcohol. Tris(2,4-pentanedionato)indium(III) is also used as a catalyst for the polymerization of olefin monomers such as butadiene, styrene, and methyl methacrylate. This chemical has been recrystallized from acetone and purified by sublimation under vacuum.br>br>
