Cambinol is a natural compound that inhibits the enzyme SIRT1 and SIRT2. It has been shown to have anticancer activity in vitro, as well as in vivo models of human cancer cells. Cambinol has been shown to inhibit the growth of epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) cells, which are believed to be associated with tumor progression. This compound also inhibits the proliferation of k562 cells by inhibiting protein synthesis in vitro. A molecular docking analysis has been performed on SIRT1 and SIRT2 inhibitors, which demonstrated that cambinol is able to bind to both enzymes and inhibit their activity.
