1-(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)pyrrolidine is a post-irradiation chemical that can be used to generate radicals. It is an oxime that reacts with halides to form a new radical species. 1-(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)pyrrolidine has been shown to react with cyclohexanone in the presence of chlorobenzene and generate a number of radical species. This product also reacts with dialkylamino aromatic halides and generates nucleophilic radicals. 1-(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)pyrrolidine is soluble in non-polar solvents such as amines and ethers.
