Praseodymium 2,4-pentanedionate is a synthetic compound that is used in organic chemistry as a precursor to other compounds. It has been shown to be fluorescent and luminescent. Praseodymium 2,4-pentanedionate can be used to produce acetylacetonates, which are byproducts of the synthesis of this compound. Praseodymium 2,4-pentanedionate shows diffraction patterns that are systematic with those of other lanthanide elements. Praseodymium 2,4-pentanedionate has been shown to have fluorescence properties and when excited by UV light emits greenish blue light. This compound can also be used in solar cells and microscopy.
